Crimson is Joining the #12hrmangalove Readathon!

Hey guys! So I actually decided to put up a video for this one. I forgot to do one for the other readathon I participated in AND it’s got subtitles! Someone mentioned on a blog post that we should be more aware of hearing impairments and I figured I’d add subtitles to my video to make it more accessible. It took me a hot second (or many seconds) to get that done and how I wanted them but yeah. You can turn them on with the CC button~ Continue reading “Crimson is Joining the #12hrmangalove Readathon!”

[Review] Ezuke wa Yahan, Ano Heya de by Homerun Ken

Oh my, it’s been a while since I last reviewed a BL manga! I think my last one was That Blue Sky Feeling back in September! Well, to be honest, I also haven’t been reading many BL manga recently. I’ve mostly been keeping to webcomics and their updates. But I was feeling a bit bored and figured it was time to pick something new up! Currently Catching Up: Haikyuu 25+ [fujoshi rambles on the tsukki/hina]

Hey guys! So along with the anime I started watching again, I figured I’d stop procrastinating on my manga reading and first up was Haikyuu. Though if I’m being honest, that’s only half the reason I started reading Haikyuu again. The REAL reason is that I was doing some research on Tsukishima and Kageyama’s interactions for uhm, non-fujoshi purposes ah heck who am I kidding, it’s for the yaoi, it’s always for the yaoi

I ship them so hard! *indecipherable whale noises*

[Edelweiss] That Blue Sky Feeling by Okura

Hey guys! Can you believe I haven’t read a BL title since around the beginning of the year I IMAGINE. I know, it’s like a crime! But for some reason, nothing has really caught my attention outside of a few webcomics I’ve been “keeping track of” (aka I bookmarked them months ago and haven’t returned to them). So to remedy this, I actually went to this website called Edelweiss, which works similarly to Netgalley but has a hint of Goodreads

Basically, I can go and request some books to read and then I review them for the publishers. I actually found That Blue Sky Feeling on there and wow, I really enjoyed it! Continue reading “[Edelweiss] That Blue Sky Feeling by Okura”

ACEN 2018 Manga and Artists Alley Haul

Is it already summer?! How did half the year already end? I could have sworn it was February last week…

I guess the nice thing about it already being May (into June) is conseason. YUP. ACEN was actually a week or so ago, marking it as my second convention of the year. Usually I post a convention list of where I’m going but lately it’s all been up in the air. The only two conventions I know I’ll be attending in the near future are Colossalcon in OH (early June) and AX in CA (early July). Oh my where will I find the money for such an extravagant lifestyle (lolol) Continue reading “ACEN 2018 Manga and Artists Alley Haul”

Reading Devils and Realist v 1 – 10

Ok guys, so before I start this, I just want to show you all the covers of this series. Aren’t they SO NICE, like if you saw them at a bookstore, wouldn’t it make you curious about the content? Well, that is exactly what happened to me and this series. I think I picked this up around the time there were maybe 4 or 5 volumes, or maybe I only owned that many at the time…Either way, I jumped in to watch the anime and then sort of dropped it for awhile

But now I’m back, burning with unanswered questions that the anime left me with! Unfortunately, I only have so many volumes within hands reach and you bet I was left at a cliffhanger

So this series follows William Twining, a genius (practically) attending a prestigious school, who plans on being either a lawyer or politician and then swimming in loads of money. Continue reading “Reading Devils and Realist v 1 – 10”

Reading Air Gear v 1-6

Hey guys! So it’s been AWHILE since I last did one of these. I think since around my blog first started and I was reading Otomen and My Little Monster (there was also a third series but I can’t remember what it was called…). I figured it was about time I revived them because who doesn’t want more manga content on the blog? Besides, it’s a way to help me keep reading! And since these are impressions by volume, SPOILERS abound! Especially once you get into anything after volume 1 because I talk a bit about the previous ones (hehe)

But yes, I have already started on my reading goals and because it was just right there, my first read is Air Gear. I mentioned I watched the anime when I was younger and I was trying to figure out when because I started reading the manga soon after. And oh boy, has this first volume surprised me. Not only does it feel SUPER different from what I remember, but it’s also more violent than I remember! Continue reading “Reading Air Gear v 1-6”

2018 Reading Plans: Manga Edition

Hey guys! So I haven’t been around much for December, partially because I’ve been busy with holiday and work but also because I’ve been sick and too lazy to turn on a computer (hehe). I am still living at the old house but I am crossing my fingers that SOON we shall move and my computer will have a better place so that turning it on isn’t so much as a hassle

But yes, we are nearing the end of the year and already I am thinking about what I want to read in 2018. Usually I have this ridiculous list of books I want to read but for 2018 I want to a) be more realistic and b) trim down on all my unread books on my shelves. That doesn’t mean I won’t be reading any new shiny books that catch my interest, but I would like the emphasis to be on my older books

And well, here’s my list. My shelves are split into two types of books. One are novels and they have the most unread books on it, but also all my manga which is only a small percentage unread (which is UNACCEPTABLE) . This list will focus on my manga~ Continue reading “2018 Reading Plans: Manga Edition”

OWLS Strength Blog Tour: Shirotani’s Mental Fortitude and Helping Hand (It’s OK to Need Help Sometimes)

For this tour, we will be exploring anime characters that have overcome adversity due to a personal insecurity or physical weakness. It is these type of characters that many anime fans may identify as role models because fans are able to feel empathetic towards these characters’ struggles and insecurities

10ct

Because I already talked about Kyoko for the Sanctuary tour, I guess that means I can’t talk about her for this one (or you know, if I did, it would just end up as a repeat of the other). Instead, I thought I’d talk a little bit about a boy’s love manga because I’ve just been itching to talk about one for this tour since forever Continue reading “OWLS Strength Blog Tour: Shirotani’s Mental Fortitude and Helping Hand (It’s OK to Need Help Sometimes)”

Crimson’s Dream Crates, What Is Yours?

Hey guys!

So I noticed it’s been awhile since I last posted something on my site. Or at least it feels that way because most of the stuff that published recently were scheduled beforehand (I know, even I surprise myself!). The only new stuff I did was the Your Name, GitS, Fate of the Furious, and Beauty and the Beast posts (yay to new movies!)

Because of that, I thought it would be fun to join in the Dream Crate posting!

106534-hyouka-heh

I’ve seen a couple videos before (unboxings) of Loot Crate. I know my brother has wanted to try ordering one before and even I’ve considered trying this out once (if they only had the yaoi, wow you guys I’d be on that ASAP). And recently I was told that there was a Dream Crate project where we plebeians can nudge nudge wink wink at Loot Crate Continue reading “Crimson’s Dream Crates, What Is Yours?”
