Hey guys! So it looks like the new anime season is starting soon but because I couldn’t wait, I decided to browse around Netflix for my next and first watch of the year. It did take me nearly half an hour to decide but I ended up choosing Sirius the Jaeger and ohmyGOD why didn’t I know about this series sooner?! Just, look at this guys eyes, his hair, his physique, his fighting prowess, he’s my perfect bishie crush!! I can see why that girl keeps stalking him (but don’t, he’s my boyfriend, Grrr) Continue reading “Sirius the Jaeger (ep 1 – 4)”
Hey guys! It feels like only yesterday when I was whining about not having anything to blog about and now here I am, writing actual content. HMM, actually, it might have been yesterday…*EHERM*
It looks like whenever I have nothing to watch, or I’m afraid of investing in something new (because who am I kidding, THIS is why I don’t watch as much anime anymore), I tend to rewatch things. And this time around I am rewatching (and rereading some much needed yaoi) My Hero Academia. It’s a show I picked up 2 years ago (what is up with me and 2 years?). At this point, I can’t remember if I read the manga first or watched the anime. I want to say it was probably the manga since I already knew what season 2 would bring for us (sports festival) way before it ended but I could have probably picked it up after the first few episodes and binged it Continue reading “[Review] Rewatching My Hero Academia S1 in Preparation of S3 Plus Some Favorite Character Fangirling”
Can I just say that Inuyasha is amazing and just WOW Rumiko Takahashi! No wonder I did my fifth grade women’s history month project on her. She really knows how to make a series (or at least the beginning of one). Also beware, this series is old and I’m going to spoil it and fangirl about some moments! Feel free to join me in the comments section
It’s been so long that I feel like the summary for Inuyasha should be Known, but I’ll go ahead and squeal about it anyways. Inuyasha is a fantasy, adventure, romance, and action series about a modern day Japanese girl named Kagome who is dragged down an ancient well at her family’s shrine and ends up in feudal Japan. While there she comes to learn (after a giant centipede rips out a jewel from her side) that she is the reincarnation of a priestess named Kikyo, who died 50 years ago while trying to protect The Jewel of Four Souls, a powerful stone that could grant demons immense power, from a half-demon named Inuyasha. The same demon Kagome found pinned to a giant oak tree and the one she ends up unsealing during a battle, believing he is the “hero” Continue reading “Season 1: Down the Rabbit Hole and Into the Wonderful World of Inuyasha”

In honor of the 2018 Winter Olympics, this month topic will focus on the theme, “Competition” because the Olympics is where athletes from all countries join together to compete in sporting events. Through these events, we see how “competition” brings out the grit, the teamwork, and the competitive spirit within athletes. This month, we will be exploring anime and pop culture media that discusses the good and the bad when it comes to competition and what it can teach us about ourselves and the world around us.
So if you’ve been around for awhile, you might already know I’m sort of kind of maybe a little obsessed and in love with this one show called Ace of Diamond (lovingly called Daiya by it’s very devoted fanbase). And while I was thinking of doing something “outside the box” for this tour I ended up just going with Daiya. Or more specifically, Sawamura Eijun, our underdog of the story Continue reading “OWLS Competition Blog Tour: I Wish I Could Be Like Sawamura”
A new year implies “new beginnings.” Yet, rather than discussing the “new,” we will be discussing the “revival.” “Revival” has multiple definitions, but the meaning we will be focusing on is the improvement, development, or refinement of something. Our posts will be about characters that undergo a positive or negative transformation and what we can learn from them.
Also, I just HAVE to say this because I find it hilarious, but last year for our first tour I wrote up a post about Erased and omg, Satoru had that power called Revival…Hehehe
But before I begin my actual post, new year means possible new followers who have no idea what the heck OWLS even means. Now then, gather round my fellow bloggers for I shall now briefly talk about this amazing group that started one year ago. OWLS is a blogging group where we do blog tours based on monthly themes in order to promote awareness and spread love. Continue reading “OWLS Revival Blog Tour: Nishiura Helped with Mihashi’s Revival But Ultimately It’s Up to Him to Grow”
Ok guys, so I wasn’t expecting to get through this one so quickly but once I picked up season 2 it was so hard to stop!! Beware the spoilers for season 1 and maybe for season 2? I’ll try not to get into much detail but it’s so hard to when I’m so excited!
So in season 2 we pick up directly after season 1. Nishiura has just finished their first big game against a top school and they’ve WON. However, instead of riding on their high of winning, they keep working hard, never underestimating the next team they play but also trying out new game plans. Unknown to them, their next big competitor, Bijoudai Sayama, is studying them and are ready to do whatever it takes to win! Will Nishiura win the next game and become one of the Top 16 schools? Continue reading “[Review] Big Windup S2 Hit A Homerun In My Little Sports Anime Lover Heart!”
And the review is finally out! Though if you saw my little post on my FB page and Anime Planet profile, you might already know what I thought about this show (basically that I liked it!). At this point I have watched a couple other sports anime so it’ll be hard for me to not compare it with others. Which is why this is like a review/comparison post. Don’t forget to read my first impression since I won’t be introducing our main characters too much anymore. And beware spoilers because why not get a little excited?
In Big Windup we follow Mihashi, an extremely timid pitcher who was bullied in middle school for being a “sucky and selfish pitcher” (not a quote but basically what they meant). His teammates hate him and instead of confronting them and defending himself, Mihashi ends up running away and enrolling at Nishiura High School, away from all his old teammates Continue reading “[Review] Big Windup Is Cute and Feels Good But Also Very Slow In Comparison to Another Baseball Anime I Know”
I finally got that dust off my Big Windup DVDs and popped it into my computer…only to end up watching it off YouTube. I know, I suck, haha. It just looked better on there. Don’t know if there’s a setting I have to mess around with but it is currently 5AM and I haven’t slept so I just took the easy way
But yes, Big Windup. Since this is a baseball anime, I can’t help but compare it to Daiya
Big Windup follows Mihashi who has just left his old team to play baseball at Nishiura High School. Why? Not only was he being subjected to bullying but he also wanted to allow his teammates to finally have fun playing baseball. Unfortunately, this left him with an extremely timid and self-depreciating personality. In fact, on the first day that he checks out the baseball team at Nishiura, he comes out and tells everyone that he’s a terrible pitcher (and he breaks down #protectMihashi) Continue reading “Big Windup (episodes 1 – 7)”
HAPPY NEW YEARS! I know it’s already past but it is the new year so hopefully everyone spent it having fun and hopefully not drinking too much. I know I spent it stuffing myself full and now that that’s done and over with, time for anime
I’m really happy that for my first review of the year I’ll be talking about Recovery of an MMO Junkie! I know I picked it up and even did some impressions on the first couple episodes but then I couldn’t keep doing it weekly. Next thing I know, someone said it was over and I finally got around to binging it and I’m so glad I didn’t have to wait. If the first few episodes were dragging me through the feels fields, these last ones nearly killed me
KILLED ME. Why are my children so precious and awkward and beautiful Continue reading “[Review] Recovery of an MMO Junkie Was Such A Cute Feels Good Series With Loveable Characters”
