Just wanted to show you all some new books that I’m really excited about! You see, today was both one of the worst days of my life and best. Worst because I had to go grocery shopping for curry, sushi, and gyoza ingredients, though that’s not the bad part. The bad part is that the store that has many of the essential ingredients is about a 2 hour drive away with 3 tolls.
But I really wanted to eat curry for Thanksgiving so I decided to make the drive. Unfortunately, things turned out not so well on the way back. There was major traffic and since there’s a lot of road construction…well, I’ll leave it up to your imaginations. The only information I’ll give you is that I was out for about 7 hours and was only inside of a store for about 2 hours total (I went to two different stores).
However, it was also a very good day because I went to Kinokuniya~ And being the spender that I am, I bought myself some books 😀
I was supposed to hold off on buying any new books, and I’d been doing a great job so far. I think my last purchase was done September? During the whole Yaoi-con and AWA weekend. But then I fell to temptation. I actually brought some money with me on the trip to Arlington Heights because I knew I wasn’t going to be able to resist.
What did I get?
I picked up Ten Count volume 4, which I didn’t know had been released! Otherwise it would have been part of my collection sooner. Also, as I was browsing I noticed some Diamond no Ace book.
I know that Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu are getting their English translations, courtesy of Viz Media, but I don’t think the same will happen with Daiya, so I thought I’d start collecting it. Except that Kinokuniya only had two really random volumes (like 23 and 44).
I did find these two other books though, that look to be spin-offs of the series. I have yet to open them but I will once I’m done with this post, haha. One of them seems to be called Daiya no Ace act II and the other is called Daiya no Burasu (ブラス). I have no idea what that is but I imagine it has to do with music and band because on the cover Sawamura, Haruichi, and Furuya are holding instruments. (Google says it’s Brass but again, whatever that is) 😛
In addition to these three lovelies, I also got バケモノの子, which is The Boy and The Beast (it’s really bothering me that the ko looks so different from the rest of the title…haha). The reason I got this book? Well, I was just browsing through the kids section, trying to find something that I could ‘read’ and found that this book had the little letters next to the kanji (I believe they’re called furigana), and since I’m eventually going to learn some Japanese, I thought, why not?
